Falling Fritters –
Doughnut Hole Acorns.
Sweet, salty and a cinch to prepare, these whimsical acorn treats
can be mastered by chefs young and old.
20 doughnut holes, bakery-bought or homemade
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup crushed nuts, brown sprinkles, or toffee bits
10 pretzel sticks
1. With a butter knife, spread Nutella in a circular shape to cover approx 1/3 of each doughnut hole.
2. Roll Nutella-covered area in crushed nuts, sprinkles or toffee to coat.
3. Insert half of a pretzel stick into each ‘acorn’ with a twisting motion.
4. Serve immediately.
